Meteora, Greece is located in the center of Greece in a town called Kalabaka, about a 4 hours drive outside of Athens. Meteora is actually the name of the rock formations of which you will see beautiful Eastern Orthodox monasteries atop of, like the one shown in this magnificent view. Of the about two dozen elevated monasteries in Meteora, only about 6 are living monasteries, and these are a truly a must visit while exploring Greece!
